Donald Hugh Klabe

Klabe, Donald Hugh Sr., 82 Don was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 2, 1929 and passed away in Prescott on May 26, 2012. Don married Janet Simmons on June 14, 1950 and was a devoted and loving husband and father for the past 62 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, daughter Janine Klabe, sons Eric Klabe and Donald Klabe Jr., brother Richard Klabe, sister Doris Katuran and grandson Justin Pettycrew. He was preceded in death by his parents Karl and Ethel Klabe, his daughter Donna Pendley and his brother Karl Klabe Jr. Don worked as an engineer for Emerson Electric and moved to Prescott from Pennsylvania in 1973 to work at U.S. Motors. He retired years ago and created a small business for himself repairing jewelry for some of the businesses on “Whiskey Row.” He will be cremated and a private memorial will be held by the family prior to scattering his ashes at the same place where his beloved daughter’s ashes were scattered, per his request. He was a father beyond compare. He will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. Memorials can be made in his name to the Arizona Humane Society.
