Donald "Don" Allen Harstine died, March 21, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Prescott. He was 70 years old. Don was born December 24, 1934 in Coshocton County, Ohio, the son of Homer and Wilma (Little) Harstine. He attended Faith United Community Church, and was a member of the American Legion Post #78, Sharlot Hall Museum, and the Yavapai Classic Cruisers Car Club. During his retirement, Don enjoyed traveling and volunteering for the Disabled American Veterans as well as the Sharlot Hall Museum. He was most proud of his family and the joy that they gave to him. Don is survived by his loving and caring wife of 45 years, Edythe (Summer) Harstine; son, Allen (Sherri) Harstine of Vancouver, Washington; daughter, Karen (Brad) Ludwick of Phoenix; mother, Willma Harstine of New Concord, Ohio; brother Jack (Wanda) Harstine of Wilson, N.C.; sisters, Sandra Harstine of New Concord, Ohio, Kay (Charles) Denhardt of Newark, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Scott, Garrett, Kristin, and David. Don was preceded in death by his father, Homer Harstine. A private cremation was held at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley. Celebration of Don's Life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Faith United Community Church, 1061 N. Old Chisholm Trail, in Dewey. Private inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix will be held at a later date.
