Denver L. Mc Clellan, age 85, died peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home in Prescott Arizona.
He was born in Saverton, Missouri, to Denver C. and Ethel (Henderson) McClellan—the only child of that union, but the youngest of three half siblings. His mother divorced and moved the children to California in the ‘40’s, settling in Los Angeles.
After graduating high school in 1952, Denver went into the Naval Reserves (1952-57), as well as to work for Pacific Bell Telephone Company, where he retired thirty years later.
Denver and Joanne Prumers were married in 1956, at St. Marks Methodist Church in Los Angeles. They went on to have three children, two daughters and a son.
Denver was active in his home church, in Orange, CA, where he served on the church board and as head usher for many years.
In 2015, after living in Southern California for more than six decades, Denver and Joanne moved to Prescott, AZ, purchasing the home next door to his youngest daughter and her husband.
Denver was preceded in death by his parents, brother Floyd R.W. Loew, and sister Marilyn (Loew) Killian. Denny will be remembered for his outgoing personality, strong sense of loyalty and service to his church in Southern California, his sense of humor and the deep love he had for family and his wife of 63 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne, his three children—Diane Prado (Bob), Denver McClellan (Janice), and Susan Chandler (Dan), as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Willow Hills Baptist Church, on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
