David L Favier

David Favier, 88, of Prescott, AZ, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2022 after a short battle with brain cancer.

Dave was born on June 10, 1933 to Victor & Georgetta Favier in New York City, NY. He moved to El Paso, Texas at the age of 9 and graduated from Austin High School in 1951.

After graduation, he worked at White Sands Missile Range for over 35 years. He started off filming missile launches and then became an electronic technician, building state of the art systems to measure atmospheric conditions in association with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, participating in many technological breakthroughs. At age 18 he also joined the Texas National Guard, serving for 34 years, rising to the rank of Sergeant Major.

During National Guard training at Fort Sill, OK he met Sarah Marie Hunck and they were married in 1954. Dave and Sarah went on to have three children, William (Bill), James (Jim), and Andrew (Andy). He served as a Scout Master for many years, leading the troop on numerous camping trips and 50-mile hikes on the Continental Divide. Sarah passed away in 1985. In 1986 he wed Brenda Edeburn and gained two more children, Beverley and Craig.

Dave retired in 1988 and he and Brenda moved to Prescott, AZ. Throughout his life he was a passionate traveler. He built a pop-up camper from scratch for his family when he was 25 and never stopped traveling. He and Brenda visited all 50 states, Canada and most of the National Parks in addition to going on several European River Cruises. He was active in the church, singing in the choir and constantly volunteering to build ramps and perform other services for those in need.

He was predeceased by his Father, Victor Favier, Mother, Georgetta Favier, Stepmother, Irene Favier and his first wife, Sarah Favier. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Favier, brother, Victor E Favier of Eugene, OR, William & Lois Favier of Hellertown, PA, James & Suzanne Favier of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrew Favier of Plano, TX, Beverly & Rich Hamilton of Dallas, TX and Craig & Wendy Edeburn of Rockport, TX. Grandchildren include Brianne Favier of Hellertown, PA, Larissa Favier of Easton, PA, Garrett Favier of Vincent, OH, Brittany Hamilton of Krum, TX and Victoria Hamilton of Krum, TX
