David Hartke, 88, was born to John and Gertrude Hartke in Santa Ana, California. He passed peacefully at home with family.
David is survived by his wife, Marianne Simpson and two daughters, Donna Mikschl (La Mesa, CA) and Leslie Hartke (Lihue, Kauai).
David had a rewarding life as an Electrical Engineer. He worked for Burroughs, Xerox, and then co-founded Teradata--now an International data base company. David was described as an “absolute legend” in that company for his creative work (23 patents), along with his character and how he treated colleagues and subordinates. He moved to, Prescott, Arizona in 2003 where he and his late wife, Brenda Dabbs built their dream home. He enjoyed serving the community and sharing his computer skills. He was an active member of Noon Lions in Prescott, People Who Care, Cathedral Pines HOA, and the Yavapai County Democratic party.
David led a full and admirable life. He will be missed!
