Daniel Ray Rees

Daniel Rees was born on September 11, 1956 to Weslene and Herbert Rees in Prescott, Arizona. The youngest of four children, he grew up in Chino Valley and spent the majority of his life in the Chino area until retiring in Peeples Valley. Daniel was an incredible athlete throughout high school and college, excelling in baseball in particular. Daniel graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson and spent his work life farming, ranching, and honing his skills in construction.

This man of rural Arizona was not one to readily explore new technology or the internet but he sure did have a mind like an encyclopedia! He knew a lot about a lot and never met a person he couldn’t talk to. During the latter part of his life Daniel became a regular fixture in his neighborhood, sitting on his front porch and waving at passers by, always happy to offer his visitors a Coors Light and a chat.

Daniel loved music and always had it playing in the background; we can only hope that he is enjoying the afterlife’s version of free endless internet music.
Daniel raised chickens and enjoyed selling their eggs; never one to take advantage, even with inflation he refused to sell those eggs at current supermarket prices. He delighted in maintaining a beautiful and bountiful garden full of squash, tomatoes, and roses.

Daniel passed away peacefully in his sleep on the evening of July 5, 2022 at the young age of 65. He is survived by his daughter Rebecca (husband Brian), brother David (wife Su), sister Linda (husband Rocky), sister Shirley (husband Gary) and nieces and nephews.
