Dallas Quasula, Sr.
Dallas Quasula, Sr., 77, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Dallas was born to Philip and Ruby Quasula. Dallas was the great grandson of Chief Wauba Yuma. He is the last of Philip and Rubys childrenproceeded in death by siblings, Myra, Merle, Evelyn, Lavonne and Arlene. Two of Dallas children preceded him in death, Kim and Louis. He is survived by children Phillip, Sharon, Rhonda, Dallas Jr., Sidney, Harry and 13 grandchildren. Those who knew Dallas would agree that he was a man of his word, someone you could depend on; his family, including his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, meant everything to him. A member of the Hualapai Tribe, Dallas graduated from Seligman High School, where he excelled in academics and sports. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Dallas worked full time until his sudden illness four weeks ago. In his life Dallas worked as a cattle wrangler, heavy equipment operator, surveyor, corrections officer and cultural resources protection officer. Dallas served numerous terms on the Hualapai Tribal Council, proudly representing the Hualapai people and their land. He was a member of the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona representing the Hualapai Tribe. Services will be held on September 2, 2010 at Peach Springs, AZ. Viewing will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service. Internment will immediately follow at the Seligman Cemetery.
