Cynthia Faulkner, beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17 after a long battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Roland; daughter Tammie, Mendon MA; son, Chris, Roseville CA; daughter Renee, Prescott Valley; daughter Rolinda, Dansville New York; mother, Sylvia, Scio NY; sister, Brenda, Angelica NY; sister, Linda, Scio NY; sister, Cathy, Scio NY; grandsons, Paul, Matt, and Taylor; and granddaughter, Katelynne. Cynthia was born on Feb. 25, 1951 in Wellsville, NY, and grew up on the family's dairy farm in Scio, NY. She graduated from Scio Central School in 1969. In 1979 she moved to Arizona along with her family, settling in Prescott Valley in 1981. Cynthia was an active member of the community who volunteered for Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and was a member of the Mountain Spinners and Weaver's Guild. Cynthia was an avid craftsperson, with an insatiable appetite for learning new skills, and particularly enjoyed sharing those skills with family members and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, photography and travel. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, courage, laughter and fierce devotion to her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Oct. 22 at the Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, AZ.
