Chuck was born in Oklahoma and moved with his family to Yuma at an early age. Upon graduation from high school in Yuma he attended the University of Arizona on a football scholarship and earned his baccalaureate there. Chuck was in ROTC at the University of Arizona then joined the last U.S. Army horse cavalry and subsequently the U.S. Air Force. Chuck met Fay at the University of Arizona; they were married in 1944 and were inseparable until her death in 2005. They moved to Prescott in 1947. In Prescott Chuck worked as a newspaper and magazine distributor then became involved with the manufacturing of plastic bottles. Working for Celanese corporation Chuck moved his family to Upland, California, in 1961. He and Fay moved back to Prescott in 1965 and started Quality Plastics of Prescott. He worked there well into his 80s. His ideas and leadership in that company resulted in a thriving entity that remains vital today, employing Prescott area people in a manufacturing environment. Chuck and Fay were honored as Philanthropists of the Year after providing many years of support to local organizations whose charters were to educate and assist Prescott citizens.

A strong man with an intense feeling of right and wrong, Chuck was vocal in opposition to things he disfavored and equally vocal in support of those things he believed in. Chuck believed strongly in the capable, effective team he and Fay became through the years.
