Charles A. RothCharlie Roth passed away on November 25, 2019 at his home in Prescott. He had led a well-lived and loved life and he did it his way. He was born in August of 1932 in Bridger, Montana. He was the oldest son of John Roth and Dorothy (Feller) Roth. In 1944, his family moved to rural Weld County in Colorado (near Greeley). He graduated from Gill High School in 1951. Charlie moved to Prescott in 1959 and worked at Dokken Auto Supply. He was known as one of the best counterman in the auto parts business in AZ. He joined the Smoki People that year. He was a very agile dancer and also served on the council. In 1961, he married Jeanne Jordan and they purchased a new home. This would be their home for 58 years and Charlie enjoyed getting the yard in shape. He was known for having one of the best lawns in Prescott and also for his beautiful flowers. In 1964, daughter Dorothy (Dottie) was born. In 1966, daughter Ronda completed the family. During this time Charlie was going through the chairs in BPOE Elks. #330. He served as Exalted Ruler in 1969. He also served as Grand Knight for the Knight for the local Knights of Columbus. In the 1970’s he went to work as manager for Tarr, McComb and Ware Commercial Co. in Prescott, he enjoyed working with electrical parts. In 1984, he started work at Yavapai College. He retired from there in 1992. In retirement he did quite a bit of traveling. He visited Australia and, went twice thru the Panama Canal and Central America. To celebrate he and his wife’s 50th anniversary, they went on a cruise to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Charlie loved his home and yard. Besides his yard, he became a very good cook, often making the holiday meals for both his family and his in-laws. He loved to hunt and fish, but his family and house always came first. He was predeceased by his parents, John Roth and Dorothy Roth Sweet and stepfather, Kenneth Sweet. He was also predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 brother. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Jeanne and daughters Ronda Roth Kimberly of Prescott, AZ and Dorothy Roth of Glendale, AZ. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Roth of Longmont, Colorado. Services will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Ruffner-Wakelin Prescott Chapel. It is hoped both family and friends will attend. Private Interment will be in the Arizona Pioneers’ Home Cemetery. Arrangements Entrusted to Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Homes and Crematory.
