Cathy Brown

Cathy Lynn Brown, 67, of Spring Valley, Arizona, beloved wife of Steven A. Brown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 29, 2024. Cathy was born on March 24, 1957, to John William Stake Sr. and Joan Stake in Worcester, Massachusetts.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 40 years, Steven A. Brown; her children: Robert Brown, Kyle Brown (Myriah), Aolani Brown(Matt), and Meishara Brown. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Sheridan; her brother, John Stake Jr., her nephews, Gabriel Sheridan and Tyler McLaughlin; and her nieces, Jessica Sheridan, Rose Sheridan, and Kaitlin McLaughlin.

Cathy was a proud grandmother to Alicia (Zack), Elliana, Jocelyn, Anyssa, Nevaeh, Nathan, Jaryn, Camron, and Kaleb, and a loving great-grandmother to Wayland, Kashton, and Daniella. She is also fondly remembered by many friends and extended family members.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father, John William Stake Sr.; her son, Travis J. Brown; her daughter, Shawnee A. Brown; and her grandson, Dominic S. Brown.

Throughout her life, Cathy was known for her love of family, her faith, and her adventurous spirit. She and Steven were members of Trinity Lutheran Church and participants in the Indian Motorcycle Riding Group in Worcester, Massachusetts, and I.M.R.G. of Peoria, AZ. Cathy cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved riding motorcycles with Steven, and enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals.

Cathy graduated from Becker Nursing School in 1988 and dedicated her career to helping others as a psychiatric nurse. After many years of service, she retired and relocated to Arizona with her husband, where they embraced a new chapter of life together.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3950 N. Valorie Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314, followed by funeral services from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Prescott National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Cathy’s memory to the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

Cathy’s kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
