Catherine Rose Fortner

Catherine Rose Fortner was born in Springfield Illinois, at St. Johns Hospital on September 28th, 1923.

Catherine was the second of five children born to Eleanor (Kehoe) and Charles Hostick. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. As a young graduate, Catherine helped the Second World War effort as a telephone operator at Army-Navy base in North Chicago Illinois for several years. She later married an Army hero in 1946, traveled the country with him to visit Army bases in the post War effort. 

Franklin Life Insurance in Springfield was her next stop. There she met her husband to be, after she tried to fix him up with her girlfriend. As fate and good fortune would have it, she ended up marrying him instead. Catherine spent the rest of her life with Rich, a devoted and loving husband, retiring to Prescott AZ.

Catherine was loved by her grateful family and friends. She was kind, cheerful and always willing to help. Her faith in the Lord was manifest in the love of her husband and her family, as well the many good deeds done for others.
