Carol Ann Mahakian-Bickart

On August 22, a star fell from the heavens and took away the most beautiful, loving, devoted and caring woman - CAROL MAHAKIAN-BICKART. She was 72 years, 7 months, and 12 days old. Everyone who knew her loved her.

Carol was born on January 13, 1946, in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, California. Her father was George Edward Hill, and her mother was Harriet Hope Whalen. She worked in the movie industry in Los Angeles for one of the Marshalls at Metro Goldwyn-Mayer. She was first married in Los Angeles, and from this marriage her daughter Lauren was born in March, 1970. She would go on to work as a bank teller in order care for her daughter. She and Lauren later moved to Sedona, Arizona, where her father and mother had retired. Carol remained in Sedona for a time, but then returned to Phoenix to further her career in banking, and create a stable work life and home in which to raise her daughter.
She always went out of her way with her time, talents, and loving care for everyone she knew. For a few years she went on to work for Ashley Furniture in Phoenix. Carol had a personality that was so fabulous that by the time she made a furniture sale, she would know everyone in the purchaser’s family by their first name; it was a genuine relationship she built with them, out of her true skill and loving nature as “people person.”
She met her husband Allen Bickart in 1982. They lived together for fifteen years, and were later married in 1997. She and her husband travelled to New Zealand to see her mother, child, and beloved grandchildren. When her family moved to a different location in New Zealand, Allen and Carol returned to Arizona.

In early 2000, Allen and Carol bought a home in Prescott. At first they used the home for weekend getaways. However, Carol and Allen later sold their homes and properties in Phoenix and New Zealand to make their permanent home in Prescott.
Carol was loved by a great many people in Phoenix, Prescott, and beyond. Because people are coming from around the community, the state, and from as far as Israel, Canada, and New Zealand, a memorial is being planned in an attempt to accommodate such diverse travel plans. The date for the memorial is September 29 at 12:00PM., at El Gato Azul restaurant in Prescottl. It will be a casual and loving event where all will be welcome to reminisce and tell of their memories, anecdotes, and love for Carol. The community has truly lost a loving and caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and mother to puppy Wolfie
