Carmen Reyes

Carmen Reyes

After a long illness, Carmen Reyes died on Friday April 16th. He was eighty years old.   He enjoyed hunting, camping, playing guitar, shooting pool, and wood carving. He loved talking to people and telling stories. His best times were spent with friends and family.   He was very proud to serve his country in both Korea and Vietnam as a highly decorated non-commissioned officer. He then worked as a Coconino County Sherriff, Search and Rescue volunteer, a Williams Police Officer and a Juvenile Probation Officer. He also spent a brief time as a Williams City magistrate. In all these capacities he believed that he was there to help and that when people needed help they needed it immediately, not when it was convenient or just when he was on duty.   He is survived by his wife Evelyn, sons Carmen Jr. and Eric, daughters Angela, Patricia, and Melanie and by his grandchildren Krista and Kyle.   He will be remembered for his work with children and families as well as his generous nature. His family will treasure their memories of his easy going nature and adventurous spirit. He was always willing to take risks and meet people. He will also be recalled for his beautiful wood carvings which he gave so generously to those who admired them.
