Carl Loyal Andrews, called home by the Lord on March 21, 2012, was born January 17, 1924 to Carl and Golda Andrews in Ashtabula, Ohio. He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1941. The Lord granted him 88 years, during which he served in World War II and in Korea and received his BA degree in 1960 from Kent State University in Ohio, taught history and social studies in New York State and Maine and moved from Fulton, NY to spend the last 26 years of his life in Dewey, Arizona, at the Orchard Ranch RV Resort. He was an amateur radio operator (W8UQC) and an avid photographer, documenting a memorable bicycle trip through Europe as well as his tour of duty in Korea. Carl, truly a gentleman who loved the Lord, his fellow men, and his country, is survived by his twin sister Karleene White of Ajo / Dewey, Arizona, his nephew Jeff M. White of Fulton, NY, and cousins Howard Andrews of Fort Meyers, Florida and Jerry Andrews of Wickenburg, Arizona. A private blessing of Carl’s earthly remains was conducted by Chaplain Ken Sivenson at the Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel in Prescott Valley, AZ, and transportation of his body to the Andrews Family gravesite in Ridgeview Cemetery, Ashtabula, OH. Arrangements were made by the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, AZ, and the Childs-Williams Mortuary in Ashtabula, OH.
