Burkett died Monday, September 12, 2005 in Prescott, Arizona.   He was born May 11, 1914 in Bixby, Oklahoma the son  of Delmer D. and Margaret (Weirick) Wamsley. Burkett was 91 years old. Burkett is survived by his Children; Cody Wamsley of   Willoit, AZ., Ann McDaniel of Port Angeles, WA.   His Grandchildren; Robert and Eric and his Great   Grandchildren; Andrew, Sarah, Elizabeth and Shelby.   Burkett married the former Elizabeth Gillespie on July 7, 1947. He was a very versatile man, having been a farmer, radio braodcaster, public official, writer and painter. Burkett was proudest of his painting of the Grand Canyon and the novel he wrote ?Savage Vengeance?. He was a member of the Prescott Noon Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge # 359 in Bixby, OK., the First Christian Church and the Arizona Braodcasters Association.
