Bruce Burwell, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away at his home in Prescott, Arizona on October 31, 2022
Having served in the U.S. Air Force as a Welfare Specialist, Bruce was honorably discharged in April 1956. He went on to obtain a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, during which time he married his life partner Dolores Burwell (1959).
Bruce worked in the electronic manufacturing sector, applying his mechanical engineering expertise to various fabrication methods and processes. He concluded his career-journey as an Operations Manager, V.P. And Director.
Following retirement in October 1994, Bruce became an active member of the Prescott community. He poured his energy and resources into blessing his friends and neighbors, packing food for the Community Cupboard and faithfully ushering at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Bruce's long-time connection with Meals on Wheels, and organization dear to his heart, spanned over 25 years, 9 of those years serving on the Board of Directors.
Bruce was an adventurous world traveler, sailing on his favorite cruise line up and down the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. One of his favorite ports was Charleston, South Carolina because of the horse drawn carriages and cherished memories made when visiting.
Bruce is survived by Bruce Jr., Bonnie and Christopher and will be fondly remembered by family and friends as loving father, grandfather, and proud U.S. Air force veteran.
