Bobbye Lee Gehri, died on July 15, 2006 at Margaret T. Morris Center. She was born on October 18, 1922 in Coleman, Texas; the daughter of H.W. and Ruby Martha (Holland) Hunter. Bobbye was 83 years old. Bobbye retired a Dean of Admissions for U. S. International University London Campus; she had also served many years recruiting through out Europe for the University. Bobbye?s first husband Lt.Cmdr. John C. Houk died in 1982. She was introduced to Donald J. Gehri, Col. USMC (Ret) by mutual friends in Europe. Don also preceded Bobbye in death September 8, 2003. In 1986, Don and Bobbye Hunter Houk were married in La Jolla, California and came to Prescott to enjoy retirement. They immediately became very active in community affairs, contributing time, talent, and financial resources to a significant number of non-profit organizations. Bobbye will long be remembered, for her contributions to Catholic Social Service of Yavapai County; especially for inspiring and serving as Chairperson for the Gala held each year. Bobbye is survived by her daughter; Barbara ?Jan? (Lawrence) Maxwell of Albuquerque, NM; step-daughters Ann (Randy) Kuehl of Prescott and Jane (Skip) Theobald of Huntsville, AL. grandchildren; Christopher Maxwell, Heather (Bryce) Maxwell George, Kimberly (Lyle) Maxwell Pino; Rich (Molly) Theobald and Julie (Kris) Speetjens and great grandchildren; Ethan, Hazel, Zoe, Megan, Jack and Max; and her brother Weldon (JoAnn) Hunter of Albuquerque, NM. Bobbye was also preceded in death by her brother, Victor Hunter; sister, Charlie Mae Goltermann, grandson, Lawrence O. Maxwell III and step-son John Gehri. Bobbye loved her church, family, friends, golf and serving her community. Her family wishes to thank Ann Kuehl and the staff and volunteers at Margaret T. Morris for the loving care and compassion shown to Bobbye these last 2 ½ years.
