Billie J. Kazmierczak passed away suddenly but peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2020, taking a nap with her beloved cat in the warm comfort of her home. As difficult as this has been for her family and friends, we couldn't imagine a better way for her to leave this life. She was 74 years old.
Though originally from the quiet mountain town of Darrington, WA, Billie spent most of her adult years raising her daughters and grandchildren in the sunshine of Albuquerque, NM, with her husband Kaz. After her retirement from an over 20-year career at Sandia National Laboratories in 2014, Billie and Kaz moved to Prescott, AZ. There, they enjoyed excellent times and travel adventures with their oldest friends, Bob and Gail Davidson, and the extensive network of wonderful new friendships they developed when they moved to Arizona. These were some of the happiest years of her life.
Billie forged deep and enduring relationships. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, wonderful mother, doting grandmother, and a loving aunt, as well as a trusted friend, counselor, and confidant. An enthusiastic listener, Billie was always available for a call or visit. She relished in the joy of good news and shared tears for the bad. Her smile was warm and beautiful and her heart was huge. She was sympathetic, loyal, and kind. She loved her family and friends deeply and tenaciously. And she loved every furry animal she ever met. She will be missed beyond measure.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Red and Jean White. She is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Kaz (a.k.a. Jerry), her daughter Kristi and Kristi’s husband Randy, her daughter Annie, and her grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan. She had a very special bond with her nephew, Erik, his wife Stacie, and their sons, Connor and Jackson. She also loved every friend and cousin more than they could possibly know.
If you knew Billie, you knew of her love for animals. At her request, there will be no memorial services; however, our family has established a memorial fund in her memory with the Arizona Human Society (AHS). In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation to AHS in her name. Information on how to make a tribute gift to AHS can be found at this link: https://www.azhumane.org/get-involved/give-now/memorial-and-tribute-gifts/. To donate directly, click here.
