Betty Katheryn Delz

Betty K. Delz passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, in Chino Valley, Arizona. She is survived by her three children Donald S. (Linda) Delz, Mark H. (Debbie) Delz and Mary K. (Don) Drentlaw. Betty is also survived by grandchildren Mark H. Delz, Jr., Melissa K. (Delz) Bonser, Megan M. Delz and Dustin W. Drentlaw. Betty was born to her parents Everett Earl Hudson and Mildred Louise (Mendenhall) Hudson, on April 23, 1922, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, where at the age of 12 she met her future husband, Alvin L. Delz, Jr., who predeceased her in 1991. Betty and Al moved to Houston, Texas, where they raised their family and then retired in Arizona in 1976. Betty was active in many church groups at Sacred Heard Catholic Church until her health no longer permitted attendance. The family would like to thank the outstanding caregivers at New Horizons Care Home in Chino Valley, and the nurses of Hospice Family Care, who provided loving and gentle care during her last days. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17 at 11 am.
