Barbara L. Whitacre, born in Siloam Springs, AR, on Oct. 14, 1937, passed away peacefully at her home in Prescott, Az. on Oct 26 2017. She was 80 years old. She resided in Tulsa Ok. until 1968 when she moved to Phoenix Az. She was in the banking industry for many years before becoming a successful Realtor. Once retired, she then focused on managing family investments.
Barbara and her loving husband Tom, traveled the world. They also visited many places in their RV around the United States, making many friends along the way. Barbara enjoyed hiking and off road exploring in their dune buggy. She was an avid reader and loved being with her family and friends, always finding joy and laughter.
One of her most memorable experiences was building a cabin with Tom, in the mountains at Crown King Az, which was their second home for 23 years. Over those years, they enjoyed many good times and memories with family and friends. In 2005 Barbara and Tom purchased a home in Prescott, Az, where they enjoyed the tranquility, views and beautiful sunsets.
Barbara is survived by her husband Tom of 38 years; three sons Richard Faith (Susie) of Phoenix,AZ, Bryan Faith (Sharon) of San Diego CA, and Randy Faith of Tulsa, OK; Two step children, Resa Howard (Steve) of Seattle Wa., Thomas Whitacre of Seattle Wa.; 8 Grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Jennifer, Krystal, Daniel, Zachary, Ryan and Erin; and eight great grandchildren; two younger sisters Jenny Hein of Tulsa,Ok and Shirley Henderson (Bill) of Colorado Springs, Co. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who was always there for us and we all will dearly miss her.
