Barbara Ellen Wohlenhaus

Barbara Ellen Wohlenhaus, of Dewey, Arizona, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society Marley House in Prescott, Arizona. She was born February 17, 1942, in Santa Rita, New Mexico., to Roland Daniel Beach and Ellen Elenora Dickinson Beach.Barbara married Roy Peace on June 14, 1960, in Ajo, Arizona, and they remained married for more than 20 years. Barbara married William Wohlenhaus, in Newport Beach, CA, on May 30, 1992. They had a wonderful and fulfilling life together.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Roland and Ellen Beach, and her brothers, Thomas (Ann) Beach, Marvin (Ruth) Beach and Richard (Mary) Beach; and her sisters, Evelyan (Bernice) Deaton, Edna (Thomas) Ewan, and Joan (Ernest) Johnson. She is survived by William, her husband of 24 years; daughter Robin (Charles) Lappert, of Riverside, CA ; daughter, Kristi Peace of Phoenix, AZ.,; Step-daughter Kim Wohlenhaus of St. Louis, MO,; Step-son Bill (Chris) Wohlenhaus of Prescott, AZ,; grandsons, Jake (Jessi) Lappert of Yorba Linda, CA,; Michael George and Ryan McMahon of Phoenix, AZ,; Thomas Sterf of Grand Forks, ND,: and Scott Wohlenhaus of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters Bessa Lappert of Rancho Cucamonga, CA,; Ashley Sammons of Oceanside, CA, and Kaylee and Sarah Wohlenhaus of Prescott, AZ.Barbara was a remarkable mother and grandmother and devoted to her family. She worked for United Bank of Arizona for many years and made countless great friendships there. She was a superb artist and spent numerous years perfecting her oil painting talents. She loved to paint – oceans, landscapes, animals, and people. After having an aneurism many years ago, she learned to paint again by turning her reference photo as well as her canvas upside down. She also loved to cook and in collaboration with Bill, created many delicious meals. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her sisters and their families, her nephews, nieces, daughters, and grand children – she dearly loved her family and her close friends. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time. A memorial for Barbara will be held in the near future. Condolences may be sent to www.ruffnerwakelin.com
