Arthur John Lequesne

Arthur J. LeQuesne, a devoted and loving husband and father went peacefully to be with the Lord on November 4, 2019, at the age of 91. Art was born on April 16, 1928 in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts to John B. and Caroline (Peters) LeQuesne.

Art is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Terry (Patnode) LeQuesne, his children, Michelle Fontaine, Paula Lafleur, Bruce LeQuesne, Donna Hale and Patricia Myotte, 11 grand children, 11 great-grands and 1 great-great grandchild. He is predeceased by his son Curtis LeQuesne, his parents and his sister Irene Durfee.

Art spoke with great admiration about his father, an immigrant from Jersey Isle, France. Born during the Great Depression, Art learned from his father how to be self-reliant, resourceful, family-oriented, and common-sense driven.

Art and Terry married on October 28, 1950 in Northbridge, Massachusetts. Drafted into the Army in 1950, he proudly served his country. While stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, he fell in love with motorcycles.

"Family is Everything" was Art's most spoken phrase. As a family growing up in Northbridge, there was dancing (square, ballroom, polka), roller and ice skating, hiking and boulder climbing, motor cross and motorcycle excursions (often with a sidecar), and swimming in the family pool, lakes, and ocean. He was a mentor to his children, nephews/nieces, and friends, exposing all to many different trades. A self-less, kindhearted man, Art purchased the Boston and Worcester Special Delivery trucking company in 1963. He was proud of never having lost a customer.

In 1975, Art and Terry fell in love with Prescott Valley, AZ and moved there, where the four youngest children experienced the wild, undeveloped West. They built their "Little House on the Prairie". In addition to riding their motorcycles, they began in earnest their RV'ing adventures, retiring early to hit the road!

Despite living on the West coast, Art and Terry made sure the family, including the grandchildren, saw each other often and continued the family activities. Dancing, Mexican dominoes, the "confessional" swing, family meals in the garage, horseshoes in the back yard of that Little House on the Prairie, and outdoor adventures were among some of his favorites.

Art will be missed and loved forever by his wife, family, and friends! A private memorial service will be held.
