ANN REYNOLDS GROOM CREEK – Ann Reynolds, 77, died Friday (September 17, 2021) at Brookings Senior Living under the care of Maggie’s Hospice and Palliative Care Service.

Ann was born October 2, 1943, in Joliet, Illinois, to Lee Ruskin and Mary (Leach) Reynolds. She was raised and attended school in Joliet, Illinois, and graduated high school from Greeneville High School in Greeneville, TN with the Class of 1961.

In 1963, she married Gerald Rice Copeland in Norfolk, Virginia. They moved to Silver Spring, Maryland, where she worked in Membership Records at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce across Lafayette Park from the White House. To this union were born two daughters and a son: Suzanne, Elizabeth and Paul.

In 1972, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to raise her family and volunteer at Most Holy Trinity Church and School. She worked for Greyhound, Dial and Watson Wyatt writing benefit booklets until she moved to Groom Creek, AZ in 1991 to buy her dream home, where she lived for 30 years. She worked in Human Resources for YRMC Hospital in Prescott for 15 years. After she retired, she volunteered as a grant writer for YRMC and Groom Creek Fire District. She also volunteered at Sharlot Hall Museum, People Who Care and Coalition for Compassion and Justice.

Ann pursued a life of profound peace amidst the pine trees, gentle deer, playful squirrels and song birds. She completed that journey in her peaceful passing.

Family was of the utmost important to Ann. Her children were her purpose in life. Every room in her home is adorned with family photos, figurines of wildlife and angels. Her favorite author was Henry David Thoreau and she lived simply and peacefully. Ann was highly intelligent, an avid reader and a gifted writer. She loved music, playing the piano and singing.  She was a gentle, kind, loving soul who will be forever missed.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douglas.

Survivors include two daughters: Sue Francisco and husband, George of Washougal, WA and Liz Painter and husband Ted of Stow, MA; one son, Paul and wife, Liesel of Piscataway, NJ; and four grandchildren, Katie, Lee, Dustin and Spencer.
