Ann K. Lyle

Ann K. Lyle, a wonderful wife and mother passed away peacefully July 28, 2014, in Prescott, AZ, after a lengthy illness. Ann was born Florence Ann Krachy in Houston, TX on January 17, 1932 to Arthur Clair ('Bill') & Eunice Inman Krachy. She was always active in everything pertaining to sports, academics and school activities. She was up for adventures as a child, including jumping off the garage roof when dared by the boys. She attended Lamar High School and spent two years at Randolph Macon College where she was highly respected by both faculty and her fellow students. She graduated from Rice University where she met the love of her life, John Lyle. They married in Houston on August 24, 1954. She received her Teaching Certificate at University of Houston and taught for one year while John finished college. They moved to San Francisco where they had two children, John (1956) and Carol (1958). Three weeks after Rob arrived in 1961, they moved to Tokyo, Japan, where they lived for two years. She wonderfully mastered raising three young children in a country that spoke little English. They returned to CA, then NJ, before moving to India in 1966. There Ann was involved with a wide variety of social and school activities with her children. They returned to Saratoga, CA, which she loved, in 1969, where she continued volunteering at her children's schools and various museums. She and John hosted an exchange student from Yugoslavia and a Japanese high school student. Her children and her husband continued to be her top priorities. Additionally, she mothered her children's friends, helping many through difficult times. Over the years the family spent many wonderful days with John's parents at their farm in NJ. After her children were out of high school, Ann and John continued to travel and lived in Boise, ID, plus 4 years in Brisbane, Australia, from which John retired from Chevron, and Alamo, CA, before moving to Prescott, AZ in 2002. Ann has been around the world twice, visiting over 50 countries. Ann loved people, travel, antiquing, animals, and preparing cuisine for all. She was involved in bridge, hiking, and gourmet groups and the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was an honor student throughout school, staying sharp until the end. She was always extremely supportive of her children and husband. She was always thinking of others, even while in the hospital at the end. She is survived by her loving husband John, of Prescott, son John and daughter-in-law Barbie (London, UK), grandson Johnnie and wife Crystal (Houston, TX), Kelsey and husband Josh (Washington, D.C.), daughter Carol Bronisz and son-in-law Larry, grandsons Ilusha and Dimitry (Los Alamos, NM), and son Rob and daughter-in-law Lynda and grandson Brendan (Evergreen, CO). She is survived by her sister Irene Ferrell (Kerrville, TX) and brother Bill Krachy (Arundel, ME). The family gratefully thanks Tender Hearts, High Gate Assisted Living, and Yavapai Regional Med. Center for their excellent care.
