Ann Grace Arey

Ann Grace Goodson Arey passed away on July 21, 2023, in Prescott, AZ. Grace was born on September 20, 1946, in Lincolnton, NC to Robert Glenn and Annie Lee Goodson.

Grace graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1964, she then attended Appalachian State University and earned a bachelor's degree in 1968. She married the love of her life, Ted Arey, in 1973 in Iron Station, NC. The couple moved around a bit but eventually settled in Glen Allen, VA where they extended their family to include one daughter, Jennifer.

Grace enjoyed teaching but made several career changes over years, even earning an associates degree in electronics in 1983. Additionally she worked for King's Dominion, an amusement park in Doswell, VA for nearly 20 years. Grace was a giving soul and since retiring to Arizona to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons, volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity thrift store and Prescott Community Cupboard. She loved her adopted home and tried to help her community and everyone in it as much as she could.

Grace (Gracie) is survived by her husband of 50 years Ted, her daughter Jennifer Masse, son-in-law Nathan Masse, her grandsons Rylan and Vann, and her brother Robert Glenn Goodson Jr. All of whom miss her dearly, and always will as they manage through the rest of their years without her guidance, love, and humor.

A Celebration of Grace's life will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Ruffner Wakelin Prescott Chapel, 303 S. Cortez St. Prescott, AZ.
A separate service will be held at Ironton Presbyterian Church in Iron Station, NC on October 8th, time to be determined.
