Elias R Jauregui was 89 years old; he was born in Jerome, AZ on July 12 1926 and entered into eternal life on February 7th 2016 in Bagdad, AZ at his favorite place "Rancho Palo Seco." He was preceded in death by his parents, Rito and Lupe Jauregui, his Tia Petra Ramirez, his daughter Martha Sandoval Jauregui, his grandson Robert Jauregui, and his great grandson Porter Austin. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years Maria De Jesus Sandoval Jauregui, his sons Lupe, (NicoLasa) Natalia, and Elias Jauregui, Fernando, (Olga) Janelle, and Ruben Jauregui, Rigo, (Debbie) Jacob, and Dillon Jauregui, Javier Jauregui, Andrea Dearien, and Dustin Post, Eduardo, Johnathan Apolinar, Charles, Santana and Marina Jauregui, Juan (Dawn) Tanicia Austin, Janessa, Marissa, Tony Jauregui, Tashena Aguilar, and Michael McKeon, Anjelica and Nuvia Jauregui. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandkids Audrey, Addison, Nolan, Amelia, Jaydrian, Elijah, Ezrah, Addison, Bentley, and Andres.
Elias, better known to people as Chapo, started his career in mining in 1945. He worked in many mines in the surrounding areas of Bagdad and after 43 years he retired from Cyprus Bagdad Copper Corporation on July 25th, 1988. Throughout his career Chapo touched many lives with his Cobbler skills and services. Some of his many hobbies were making knives, slingshots, collecting coins and stamps, and especially spending time with his friends in his shoe shop. In 1980, he purchased his little ranch where he spent time raising his animals, and had many gatherings with his family and friends.
Elias was a man whose primary responsibility was his family, job, and his land. Elias was a devote Catholic who seldom missed a mass at Saint Francis of Assisi in Bagdad, AZ.
Rest in peace Chapo you will be loved and greatly missed by all.
